About Motisse

Our mission

At Motisse, our mission is to make writing a more accessible, enjoyable, and rewarding activity for everyone. We value the craft and hope to inspire many aspiring writers to write ‘like a seasoned writer.’

We want students and aspiring writers to express their own ideas, find their unique voice, and cultivate the craft in a world of generated texts—for personal growth and professional advancement alike.

We strongly promote human-centered AI as a meaningful approach to creative practice and lifelong learning, and fight human deskilling deriving from ‘lazy’ and suboptimal use of tools like ChatGPT.

Our vision

Our vision is a generation of writers who can “write their way further”: people who use AI as a reflective companion to reach new creative heights, not as a crutch that prevents one from thinking on their own. We believe in the power of writing as a craft, and we design simple, elegant tools that invite practice, reflection, and growth across ages and skill levels.

How it works

Motisse leverages state-of-the-art AI models in a different way: to get questions and suggestions rather than answers. It relies on expert crafting of sets of instructions to deeply analyze a wide variety of texts and provide ideas and feedback. It offers an intuitive and elegant interface to facilitate the writing and revision of multiple texts.
